What a gen code is
A gen code is a chat command for CS2 community servers that run a skin generation plugin.
Typing !gen 16 309 0.01 661 in chat spawns a Factory New M4A4 | Howl with
pattern 661 in your hands, so you can inspect any skin in game before spending a cent.
The weapon exists only on that server: gen codes never create a real, tradable item and
do nothing in matchmaking.
Why the float and seed matter
Two copies of the same skin can look nothing alike. The float sets the wear from pristine 0.00 to battle-worn 1.00, and the pattern seed decides how the finish is placed on the model, which is the whole story on Case Hardened blue gems, Fade percentages and Doppler phases.
